Montreal, May 5, 2025 – Montreal conductor Léa Moisan-Perrier becomes the Orchestre Métropolitain’s new assistant conductor for the 2025-2026 season. Having completed her training at the OM Academy of Conducting this year, she will remain part of the orchestra family for at least another year.

Léa Moisan-Perrier already has a rich professional background, as artistic director of the Orchestre de l’Estuaire in Rimouski and conductor of the St. Andrew & St. Paul Choir in Montreal. In recent years, she has been invited
to conduct, among others, the Orchestre symphonique de Laval, the Orchestre classique de Montréal and the Orchestre symphonique de Sherbrooke.

As part of her duties, she will be called upon to assist Yannick Nézet-Séguin in the concerts he conducts, as well as leading his own program, Neiges: l’OM célèbre André Gagnon, on December 13 and 14.

Her appointment was announced on Friday May 2, during the Slavic Landscapes concert, when she conducted the first work on the program, Dvořák’s Slavic Dance Op. 72 No. 2.

Léa Moisan-Perrier replaces the Canadian Naomi Woo, OM’s artistic collaborator from 2023 to 2025, who also graduated from the OM Conductors Academy. Naomi, whose career is taking off, will nevertheless remain close to the OM as she conducts the Symphonic Spells concert on November 1, 2025 at the Maison symphonique and in the arrondissements on October 29 and 30 and November 2.
