    About Author

Arising from a massed choir assembled to participate in Canada’s Centennial celebration in 1967, the Etobicoke Centennial Choir has had a remarkable 52-year history. The Etobicoke Centennial Choir (ECC) is an inclusive, community-based, auditioned concert choir. ECC aspires to enrich the cultural life of the community by engaging audiences with excellent, vibrant and diverse choral music performances, ranging from classical masterpieces to contemporary compositions and popular music. Under the leadership of Music Director Henry Renglich, ECC provides a high-calibre, challenging and supportive choral music experience for amateur singers, facilitated by a professional music director, accompanist and vocal section leads. The choir offers amateur singers the opportunity to work with professional musicians, improve vocal skills and musical knowledge and sing a wide variety of musical styles. ECC supports next generation performers by engaging emerging professional musicians for leadership and performance opportunities. ECC performs three formal concerts per year, in December, April and June, and also seeks opportunities to participate in community outreach performances. Each season includes choral works and arrangements by Canadian composers to highlight and promote the rich choral music tradition of our country. The Etobicoke Centennial Choir always welcomes new singers. Weekly rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 7:30-10:00 pm at Humber Valley United Church, 76 Anglesey Blvd., Etobicoke.
