“Duel” features two star violinists of the new generation: Tanya LaPerrière and Julie Rivest. Alongside violist Margaret Little and harpsichordist Dorothea Ventura, they will perform energetic and virtuoso sonatas for two violins in scordatura by Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber and intimate fantasies by Georg Philipp Telemann.Pallade Musica (Music of Athena) brings together some of the finest musicians on the Montreal Baroque scene. Co-directed by Tanya LaPerrière, violin, and Vincent Lauzer, recorder, the ensemble stands out for its interpretations, based on research and exploration, recognized as expressive and elegant, and praised by critics as “spectacular virtuosity” (Tom Strini Blog) and “formidable sense of ensemble” (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel).
