Joel Quarrington, former NAC Orchestra principal double bassist, was recently appointed a Member of the Order of Canada for his contributions as a world-leading double bass player and respected educator. Quarrington recently embarked on a recording project of all J.S. Bach’s Cello Suites on the double bass. On this programme, Quarrington will be performing J.S. Bach’s Second and Fourth Cello Suites, with Weinberg’s impressive Solo Sonata for Bass sandwiched in between.
