The Django Festival Allstars are a brilliantly cohesive Band of French virtuoso musicians who have taken the US by storm, performing at all the great concert halls and Festivals, Newport, SF Jazz, Kennedy Center, Carnegie all, to name a few. They have headlined the Django Festival at Birland for 20 years, bringing the music of Django Reinhardt, for the first time, into the limelight to standing ovations and rave reviews. Their music speaks of Paris in the 20’s and 30’s when “gitane” music filled the air, when a jumpin’ joie de vivre and romance was in the air. They perform some of Django’s standards, Nuage and Minor Swing, and bring the music to today with their original music. They swing like crazy and will break your heart with a ballad.
