On peut passer d&rsquo;une ann\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;autre sans entendre une note de Boulez ou de Stockhausen, mais Ligeti &#8211; qui est mort plus t\u00f4t que les deux autres, en 2006 &#8211; est en quelque sorte le plus frais dans la m\u00e9moire collective. Ligeti lui-m\u00eame d\u00e9crit certains de ces sons comme du \u00ab\u00a0faux gamelan\u00a0\u00bb. L&rsquo;\u00e9tude que je pr\u00e9f\u00e8re est celle qu&rsquo;il appelle le \u00ab\u00a0pigeon m\u00e9lancolique\u00a0\u00bb. Je sais exactement ce qu&rsquo;il veut dire.<\/p>\n<p>C&rsquo;est l&rsquo;expression que Ligeti portait \u00e0 chaque fois que je l&rsquo;ai rencontr\u00e9 &#8211; et il ne restait jamais longtemps morose.<\/p>\n<p>Le pianiste britannique Danny Driver capte ses sautes d&rsquo;humeur avec une intuition \u00e9tonnante, entrem\u00ealant les plumes de gamelan aux marteaux de Boulez et restant enti\u00e8rement Ligeti tout au long du parcours.
