Cet album, intitul\u00e9 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Primum Opus<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, inclut du r\u00e9pertoire gr\u00e9gorien et des motets polyphoniques \u00e0 quatre voix d\u2019hommes sous le th\u00e8me de l\u2019Ascension du Christ et de l\u2019Immacul\u00e9e Conception, interpr\u00e9t\u00e9s par l\u2019ensemble Voces Domini. Le chef de ch\u0153ur, Jean-Claude Picard, ajoute au programme des pi\u00e8ces de son cru, aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s d\u2019autres \u0153uvres de compositeurs qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois, comme <a href=\"https:\/\/aapadmin2.myscena.org\/fr\/newswire\/laureats-et-laureates-du-28e-gala-des-prix-opus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Denis B\u00e9dard<\/a>, et de quelques pi\u00e8ces de circonstance pour orgue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les deux premi\u00e8res pistes, aux sons des cloches et de <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L\u2019intro\u00eft gr\u00e9gorien de L\u2019Ascension<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> de Viri Galilaei, nous plongent dans un \u00e9tat de recueillement et de grande spiritualit\u00e9. Les voix du ch\u0153ur sont rondes, chaleureuses, notamment dans des pi\u00e8ces liturgiques plus r\u00e9centes comme le <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jubilate Deo <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cpdl.org\/wiki\/index.php\/Carlo_Rossini\">Carlo Rossini<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Denis B\u00e9dard est bien repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 au d\u00e9but de l\u2019album, mais parfois, son langage plus moderne, qui confine au romantisme, ne s\u2019articule pas tout \u00e0 fait avec le style des chants gr\u00e9goriens du Moyen-\u00c2ge. Ses pi\u00e8ces auraient m\u00e9rit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00eatre regroup\u00e9es en un seul bloc, comme c\u2019est le cas pour le <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sanctus<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notre P\u00e8re<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> et <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Agnus Dei<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (pistes 8 \u00e0 10). Le <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sanctus<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, avec ses riches harmonies, est particuli\u00e8rement bien song\u00e9. Dans l\u2019ensemble, les pi\u00e8ces \u00ab\u00a0modernes\u00a0\u00bb sont tr\u00e8s agr\u00e9ables \u00e0 l\u2019oreille, notamment gr\u00e2ce au bon m\u00e9lange et \u00e0 la pl\u00e9nitude des voix du ch\u0153ur.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le deuxi\u00e8me volet de l\u2019album, consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019Immacul\u00e9e Conception, d\u00e9bute par un chant gr\u00e9gorien d\u2019une grande \u00e9l\u00e9gance, suivi d\u2019un <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kyrie<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> inspir\u00e9 de Jean-Claude Picard. Celui-ci est attach\u00e9 au style d\u00e9clamatoire, ce qui favorise le bon encha\u00eenement entre les diff\u00e9rentes pi\u00e8ces. Il en va de m\u00eame pour le <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Salve Regina<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> de Rossini, magnifique hommage \u00e0 la musique du pass\u00e9.
