Au cours des prochaines semaines, trois concerts sont pr\u00e9vus\u00a0: deux \u00e0 New York, les 20 et 21 mars, pr\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9s d\u2019une prestation \u00e0 Farnham 4 jours auparavant.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sur quoi peut bien reposer un tel succ\u00e8s\u00a0? D\u2019abord, le r\u00e9pertoire\u00a0: le charme irr\u00e9sistible de la musique de Rachmaninov, jumel\u00e9 \u00e0 la virtuosit\u00e9 de la partie de piano, font de la <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sonate en sol mineur<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, op. 19, est une entr\u00e9e en mati\u00e8re savoureuse. Certains passages du premier mouvement rappellent le th\u00e8me du c\u00e9l\u00e8bre <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Concerto pour piano n<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">o<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 2,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> immortalis\u00e9 par la culture populaire.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La violoncelliste n\u2019est pas en reste. Sa couleur et son vibrato g\u00e9n\u00e9reux sugg\u00e8rent l\u2019\u00e9cole russe d\u2019interpr\u00e9tation. Qu\u2019il soit conscient ou non, ce choix \u00e9pouse parfaitement le style m\u00e9lodique de la musique.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le deuxi\u00e8me mouvement, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Allegro scherzando<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, monte la virtuosit\u00e9 encore d\u2019un cran, notamment au piano. Zhenni Li-Cohen maintient une fluidit\u00e9 impressionnante de bout en bout, que ce soit dans la douceur ou les \u00e9lans dramatiques. On peut seulement regretter qu\u2019on entende parfois trop le grain des cordes et pas assez le contour des notes au violoncelle.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Au lyrisme de l\u2019<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Andante<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, magnifiquement rendu gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la ma\u00eetrise du rubato, succ\u00e8de le dernier mouvement. La ligne majestueuse du violoncelle jouit d\u2019une enveloppe toujours aussi richement \u00e9labor\u00e9e par Mme Li-Cohen.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L\u2019album s\u2019ach\u00e8ve sur une sonate \u00e0 l\u2019origine pour alto de la compositrice Rebecca Clarke, \u0153uvre contemporaine \u00e0 celle de Rachmaninov et qui m\u00e9rite d\u2019\u00eatre connue tant elle puise dans diff\u00e9rents styles musicaux (romantisme, impressionnisme, orientalisme, passages \u00e9vocateurs d\u2019une monodie gr\u00e9gorienne). Le deuxi\u00e8me mouvement semble sugg\u00e9rer un r\u00eave en musique avec toute sa part de myst\u00e8re qui confine \u00e0 l\u2019angoisse. L\u2019<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adagio <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">final alterne entre plusieurs ambiances sonores \u00e9tablies dans les deux premiers mouvements. Les moments de calme font notamment entendre de la musique modale caract\u00e9ristique d\u2019un style ancien, suivis de passages virtuoses qui s\u2019apparentent \u00e0 des variations sur un m\u00eame th\u00e8me.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>n<\/p>\r\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Cello Sonata in G Minor, Op. 19: III.
