Initi\u00e9e par la fl\u00fbtiste Jaye Marsh, cette nouvelle parution de Centredisques nous immerge en effet dans un univers champ\u00eatre, tant\u00f4t paisible, tant\u00f4t intriguant, voire angoissant. Pas besoin de conna\u00eetre les musiques de Diane Berry, Elizabeth Raum, Richard Mascall et Richard Herriot pour pouvoir les appr\u00e9cier tant elles \u00e9veillent en nous un imaginaire de sonorit\u00e9s.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Tout commence sereinement par une pi\u00e8ce, intitul\u00e9e <i>Calling<\/i>, qui fait entendre les cancanements d\u2019un huard, animal devenu un embl\u00e8me national canadien, aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de la fl\u00fbte. La compositrice Diane Berry a utilis\u00e9 ici une captation de John Neville depuis la Baie g\u00e9orgienne (Ontario) et compose un v\u00e9ritable duo entre l\u2019interpr\u00e8te, en l&rsquo;occurrence Jaye Marsh, et l\u2019animal.<\/p>\r\n<p>Nous poursuivons notre parcours bucolique avec une pi\u00e8ce de \u00c9lizabeth Raum, bien plus longue que la premi\u00e8re de l\u2019album. Au total, cinq mouvements au cours desquelles le compositeur Richard Mascall nous invite \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir les pratiques, les croyances et la sagesse ancestrales des peuples autochtones qui font corps avec la nature.<\/p>\r\n<p>L\u2019enregistrement se termine par une \u0153uvre pleine de r\u00eaveries de Richard Herriott, en parfaite ad\u00e9quation avec l\u2019esprit des premi\u00e8res pi\u00e8ces, et par une \u0153uvre plus substantielle d\u2019Elizabeth Raum, une fois encore.
